Dear FamilySoft™ SupportCalc® User:
On April 13, 2009, Governor Gregoire signed into law the new Washington State Child Support Guidelines, to go into effect on October 1, 2009. The new Guidelines mandate sweeping changes to the way child support is calculated. For the first time in 21 years, there are new extended tables. Several key calculations have also changed. Most notably the calculation for "Extraordinary Medical Expense" has been eliminated. Now all medical expenses will be proportioned by ratio of income. Complicating your understanding of child support law, many of the instructions have changed. In preparation for the October 1st deadline, the AOC, on Thursday, July 29, 2009, released new Child Support Worksheets for comment.
We are going to have new Child Support Guidelines, and a new Child Support Worksheet. These are the most extensive changes in the 21 years Guidelines have existed.
In the interim – between now and October 1 – the old law is still in effect. The question is, will you file your client’s case under the old law or new one? You need to know how the new calculations affect your clients’ cases, so you can advise accordingly.
FamilySoft™ SupportCalc® 22.5

That’s right – a "dual window" in QuickCalc™ showing the old calculated amount, and the new amount – right on your FamilySoft™ screen!
